*"FEBRUARY ONE*": the story of how young people can change the course of
history

On February 1st, 1960 college freshmen Joseph McNeil, Franklin McCain,
Ezell Blair, Jr. and David Richmond sat down at the segregated Woolworth's
lunch counter in Greensboro, North Carolina. After being refused coffee,
they
sat at the counter until closing time. The next day, 20 students were
recruited
to sit-in. The third day, 60 students joined them at the counter. Soon
sit-ins were
taking place in fifty four cities across the U.S. and played a critical
role in the
success of the Civil Rights movement. Join Next Gen Bay Area to watch this
powerful film and discuss what young people are doing in the South Bay to
create change today.

Special guest speakers: Sarah Julian, Hotel Workers Rising

Sylvia Ruiz, SEIU-USWW

Molly Goldberg, San Francisco Pride At Work
