[GPSCC-chat] Agenda Item & comments solicited re. recent MoveOn meetings?

I had a MoveOn phone calling at my house last year. Most of the women were  very surprised to find out I was a Green, but I pointed out that MoveOn was supposed to be a non-partisan, progressive group, and that I was happy to work with other progressive people. I was at a gathering last Saturday where we filled out the four pages of the questionnaire. Not much was said. The gathering was for another purpose. I have no idea what party anybody else belonged to. MoveOn does some great communicating. This can work to our advantage. We can pick and choose which of their projects we get involved with. Being stand-offish is not going to help us build the coalitions we need to become a national force.

Feedback from Greens who attended the most recent MoveOn meetings (July
15-17?;  10 minutes)

Discussion of what we as a group might want to do as a result (e.g., ask
MoveOn if they want to make this honestly nonpartisan with roles for
minor parties or they continue to be a not-so-clandestine effort to sell
the Democratic party, whose candidates will continue their previous
practices in servicing the bribes from the ultra-wealthy;  10 minutes)

***NOTE:  Do any of you have comments on this?  Merriam suggested we
could discuss this in this email list.
