Tabling incl. Juneteenth report back (Merriam)
5 min.

Merriam was there Saturday with Fred, Warner, Andrea. Not very
crowded on Saturday. Charged $5, which limited the attendance
considerably. Two new members, youths, founders(?) of NextGen(?).
Merriam talked with them about how to get a youth group going. She will
follow up. Two new people registered Greens.

Tian collected $5 on Sunday. We didn't get much interest. Tian
questioned if this was worth $100. Merriam thinks we should do it,
because of the 2 new members we got ... if they stay with us and if
Juneteenth is held again next year.

Sharat gave a wonderful talk at Tian's clubhouse. Only had ~12
people, 3 of them new. Very important with the new people. Should go 5
pm and later. Drew: to invite Sharat to New Community of Faith,
Rainbow church on Rainbow drive.

> 5 min, need presenter

Tian will host a Green party holiday party in his clubhouse.

Nov. 17 - third Thursday & a holiday party in December. We can schedule
a meeting (Dec. 15 - third Thursday), and we can cancel later if we
decide not. Valerie and Brian suggest that a plan for 2012 should be a
primary agenda item. Spencer will schedule the Peace Center and Tian
will schedule his club house.

> 30 min, need presenter

Jim Stauffer: This is a restructured CC and first election of
this newly structured CC. 8 candidates running for 14 seats. We get 4
votes. Tian is our ballot entry person.

We agree to vote. We agree with Warner's concern about the
Marnie contract but don't want to express our unhappiness by boycotting.

       Question is how to vote:

Proposed: for the one year seats: On 2 ballots, Kate is 1 and
the other 2, Tim is first. Give Dave Heller two second places and two
third places.

For the two-year ballot: Don't vote for Joe Feller. Laura and
Sanda each get 2 firsts and 2 seconds. The other 2 each get 2 thirds
and 2 fourths (Jim G., Shawn Dodd). NOC gets 4 votes for fifth choice.
Tian will enter the votes.

> 10 min, Warner Bloomberg

Proposed: Santa Clara Greens host a regional picnic and invite
San Mateo County. August, not the beginning, not the 22&23. Saturday,
August 13 is the date. Drew suggests Murphy park in Sunnyvale. Drew
will look into this. (Drew will try to recruit Caroline.)

> * New gas tax ballot proposition
> 5 min, Tian Harter

Proposed: 10 cents per gallon tax to use for good things like
schools, can't be used to replace other funds; see
"http://tian.greens.org".

Green party will endorse this proposition and support gathering
signatures. Tian to take the lead on this.

There is a talk on this at the SJ Peace Center this Saturday,
6:30 PM.

> * Guidelines for using the San Jose Peace& Justice Center
> 5-10 min, Merriam Kathaleen

We need to follow new guidelines that basically says we must
clean up when we leave, including emptying the trash cans and clean the
bathroom.

Merriam will ask other groups if they would support paying $10
per month to pay someone else to clean the bathroom.

We had a great presentation this last month on Diablo Canyon. We
had a great discussion. One new person found us through the web site
and had an extensive conversation with Cameron afterward.

We need to come up with a new film for July 8.

Jim Stauffer: film about the collapse of apartheid in South
Africa. "Endgame" [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endgame_(2009_film)].
The group selected this. Merriam and John will get it.

Movie tomorrow night: "Inside Job". Soup at 6. movie starts at
6:30. It's a 2-hour film.
