A new survey has revealed that almost 66 percent of the British people
will reject a switch to Alternative Vote (AV) system in Thursday's 
referendum.


The ComRes poll for /The Independent/ newspaper found that 66 percent
of the British wanted to retain the first-past-the-post system, where the
candidate with the most votes wins, while just 34 percent of respondents
support a switch to the AV system, which is a system of preference votes.
