Good interview with Amy Goodman + others

Noam Chomsky has endorsed Jill Stein.

Proposed: Santa Clara Greens adopt "Green New Deal" as a campaign
slogan. Consensus.

*** Must find replacement for Warner as Regional Rep. (Warner) Warner
will resign Sept. 15. Cindy ____________ was appointed as the alternate
a little over a year ago. Cindy has been fairly inactive and has no
background with state party politics. If we do NOT select anyone else,
Cindy will become our Regional Rep.

Duties: Attend the monthly teleconferences, serve on a committee, share
information with the county groups, ... .

Proposed: Pick a quantity and let John, Tian or Valerie decide the design.

Concern: Judging by the rate at which t-shirts have sold in the past,
AND the fact that our tabling teams are not super active these days, Jim
Doyle is concerned that we may not sell that many but will stand aside.

We have a consensus with a stand aside on ordering 20. Our tablers need
to make it happen.

       1. Merriam to draft a reply to the letter received from someone
and circulate it to the County Council for approval.

       2. Spencer to ask if he'd like to help with the Foreclosure Summit.

*** We need to have 4 delegates to the Standing General Assembly. (Warner)

Proposed: The 4 members of the County Council be our 4 delegates to the
Standing General Assembly. No concerns. We have consensus. (Spencer,
Jim Dole, Merriam, Drew: Warner will forward an email to us on what we
need to do.)

*** Warner will send names and contact info for the County Council to
the Co-Coordinaters for the State party (Sanda and Alex)

** What about use of eminent domain?

** What about a tax on vacant property?

In sum: The foreclosure situation is getting worse but the plans for
the Foreclosure Summit are progressing.

*** Laura Wells, Green candidate for CA Governor:

Proposed: Santa Clara Greens organize an event with Laura.

Q: How large an event? A: Merriam wasn't thinking of doing this
before October.

Concern: Preferred to organize for Jill Stein.

Consensus: Merriam & Drew can look to organize something, generate a
more concrete proposal.

(http://cdd.stanford.edu <http://cdd.stanford.edu/>): Chair (Jim
Fishkin) of Center talked about this.

former downtown hospital.

We voted $250 to redo the web site. Spencer made suggestions for
a process.

Jim: First we decide what we want, then look for someone to do that.

       Syria and Iran.

       * Might we have an event with Sharat Lin ... ???
