Greetings,

My name is Ariana Eakle. I'm an Oklahoma resident and I consider myself a
Green, but Oklahoma will not allow me to register as such. In fact, as you
may be aware, Oklahoma will only have two candidates on the ballot this
year: Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. Oklahoma is notorious for being the
second hardest state in our union when it comes to ballot access. It is one
of the eight states that does not even allow write-ins. I was extremely
disappointed to learn I would not be able to vote for Jill Stein.

So, I decided to do something about it. I started a petition on Change.org
calling for the reform of these laws. So far over 500 people have signed
it, including two US Congressional Candidates from Oklahoma, an Oklahoma
state Congressional Candidate, and a Florida state Congressional candidate.
I started an accompanying Facebook page called "Americans United for
Oklahoma Ballot Access Reform," and though it is only a few days old it
already has 134 likes. 87.4% of registered voters nationwide have more
choices than Oklahoma voters...Oklahoma has not had a third party candidate
on its ballot since 2000.

We are seeking signatures from people nationwide, and even have a few
signatures from Europe and Canada. I am asking for you to help out your
countrymen and women to the east and share this petition as widely as you
can.

If we work hard on this and get national exposure then Oklahomans may well
be able to vote Green in 2016! Our state Congress has entertained bills
about ballot access reform in the past, but they do not have the pressure
of public opinion behind them and chose to vote to keep the two-party
duopoly over our state.

Cordially,

Ariana Eakle Oklahoma Ballot Rights Activist Green Girl
