This movie is available on Netflix both DVD by mail and streaming.  I gave it a good review on www.peacemovies.com.

The
House I Live In NR Documentary* (7-2-13)[7-2-13]
Eugene
Jarecki's documentary about the failed drug war is a powerful expose
on America's war on drugs and the destructive effects that it has on
our communities, particularly on communities of color. For instance,
the same percentage of Black people use crack cocaine as White people
do, yet 90% of people sentenced for crack cocaine
possession and sale are Black. Some hopeful changes are occurring,
such as the recent moves by Congress and Obama to reduce the
disparity in sentencing between crack cocaine and powdered cocaine.
Yet there is still so much more left to do. Five stars.

This
movie is a very rough Iffy because although it has only 23 violent
scenes in 108 minutes and about half of those scenes are violent
stories, the other half of the scenes are more violent than usually
qualifies for the Iffy category. These scenes include: two stories
of murder, 3 brief scenes of cops breaking into people's houses and
making arrests, a story of an addict's death, footage of an
explosion, a story about how rape cases are treated under Jim Crow
laws, a story of a son dieing of AIDS, two mock depictions of sons
murdering their mothers over marijuana, 3 other depictions of the
aftermath of violence, brief footage of the Vietnam War, a story of a
sister dieing in a car wreck, a mock depiction of shooting a
prisoner, a story of the "chain of destruction", brief
footage of cops being a bit rough during an arrest, 3 stories of
violence in prison and other places with footage and a story of a
father being murdered. There is some smoking in this movie.

There
were no previews when this movie was watched on Netflix streaming.

It may well work for someone else given the right
conditions.
