10-11-2013 Update:
Peacemovies.com Is Preparing The 'Nuclear Option' If Govt. Shutdown And Debt Default Defunds SSDI Payments
If the US government goes into default by not raising the debt
limit prior to October 17, 2013, this author is prepared to 'go
nuclear' to secure funding to maintain his modest lifestyle and to
continue operating Peacemovies.com. This author doesn't require
much money to pay the rent and all other bills each year. SSDI
brings in only about $20,000 per year tax free, plus the $105 per
month premium for Medicare Part B. If necessary, this author will
venture out into the online universe and find 10 crowdsource
funding web sites similar to Kickstarter and set up funding
requests of $250,000 on each of 10 sites. The fundraising goal is
flexible. If only $25k-$50k is raised in total, this will fund
living expenses and operation of Peacemovies.com for up to 2
years. If $250k is raised, this will allow expansion of the
Peacemovies.com business into the area of DVD rental kiosks, where
kiosks can be set up to rent and sell exclusively nonviolent
movies that were released to DVD. A little above $250k, will allow
the DVD kiosk business and the living expenses and normal
operating costs of Peacemovies.com to be funded until the author
reaches the age of 65, at which point the author can reapply for
normal Social Security benefits of about $1200 per month. If all
10 sites get fully funded at the level of $250k ($2.5 million
total), then even bigger projects could be taken on, such as
starting a revenue generating cable TV channel that offers
exclusively nonviolent movies and documentaries, possibly with a
news program or two thrown in for good measure. If you can't wait
to start making donations to this project, you can mail checks and
money orders made out to John Thielking and send them to John
Thielking, 5669 Snell Avenue #173, San Jose, CA 95123 USA. Thank
you for your support.
