Stop the fixed charge on your utility bill and rollback of solar and energy efficiency in California!

 
One week
to go in this year's legislative session and Sacramento is swarming with
executives and lobbyists for the big three utilities. 
They're close to passing
the most radical change in how we pay for electricity since the energy crisis. 
Your support is
essential. Help us keep the heat on in Sacramento and stand up to the big
utilities.
Tell your state senator: protect energy efficiency and rooftop solar and say no to fixed charges on your energy
bill! 
The bill, AB
327, authored by Assemblymember Henry Perea (D-Fresno), is a dream for big
utilities. 
Here's
what's at stake: 
	* AB
327 would add up to $120 in new and permanent charges on your electric bill.
	* AB
327 would slow adoption of rooftop solar. Sierra Club analysis indicates it
will slow the adoption of rooftop solar by up to 42%.
	* AB
327 would increase dirty energy use by slowing energy efficiency adoption. 
In short,
if AB 327 passes, you get new charges on your electric bill while rooftop solar
and energy efficiency programs take a major hit. 
That means more fossil fuel
use, dirtier air, and more climate disrupting pollution. 
Send a message to your state senator and tell him/her Californians cannot afford AB 327 and the new fixed charges it would add to your utility bill.
Thanks to
your emails and phone calls, we are making progress. Just last week, the bill
was amended to include important provisions for rooftop solar, but we still
have a ways to go to and not a lot of time to make changes.
That's why
we need your help right now. 
Email your state senator and tell him/her:
protect energy efficiency and rooftop solar. No fixed charges on my energy
bill!
