The De Anza Green Party will be hosting GreenParty candidates Ellen Brown and Laura Wells at 11 am on Friday May 23 in theEast Cottage at De Anza College, 21250 Stevens Creek Blvd., Cupertino, CA95014. The East Cottage is the small building directly next door to theFlint Center Garage, the large parking structure in the very northeast cornerof the campus. 
 
Alongside Green Party candidate Luis Rodriguez,who is running for Governor, and who visited campus on April 28, Ellen Brownand Laura Wells are running for statewide office in the upcoming June 3election.

Ellen Brown forTreasurer.  Ellen Brown isthe founder and chair of the Public Banking Institute that was instrumental inhelping to get a bill for a feasibility study for a California state-owned bankpassed by both houses of the California legislature, until it was vetoed byGovernor Jerry Brown.  Ellen’s vision is to transform California, theworld’s eighth largest economy, into a financially sovereign state byorganizing a State Bank modeled on the Bank of North Dakota. She has writtentwo books and over 200 articles on public banking.
Laura Wells forController. Laura Wells is committedto replacing corporate power with people power by supporting and votingfor "No Corporate Money" candidates. The goal is to win elections andchampion solutions we know exist, like implementing aState Bank for California and like changing our spending priorities fromprisons to schools. It is entirely possible to have better health, housing,jobs, justice, education, and environment – especially here in California,which is still a wealthy state.
