The De Anza Green Party will be hosting Green Party candidates Ellen Brown and Laura Wells at 11 am on Friday May 23 in the East Cottage at De Anza College, 21250 Stevens Creek Blvd., Cupertino, CA 95014. The East Cottage is the small building directly next door to the Flint Center Garage, the large parking structure in the very northeast corner of the campus.

Alongside Green Party candidate Luis Rodriguez, who is running for Governor, and who visited campus on April 28, Ellen Brown and Laura Wells are running for statewide office in the upcoming June 3 election.

Ellen Brown for Treasurer. Ellen Brown is the founder and chair of the Public Banking Institute that was instrumental in helping to get a bill for a feasibility study for a California state-owned bank passed by both houses of the California legislature, until it was vetoed by Governor Jerry Brown. Ellen’s vision is to transform California, the world’s eighth largest economy, into a financially sovereign state by organizing a State Bank modeled on the Bank of North Dakota. She has written two books and over 200 articles on public banking.

Laura Wells for Controller. Laura Wells is committed to replacing corporate power with people power by supporting and voting for "No Corporate Money" candidates. The goal is to win elections and champion solutions we know exist, like implementing a State Bank for California and like changing our spending priorities from prisons to schools. It is entirely possible to have better health, housing, jobs, justice, education, and environment – especially here in California, which is still a wealthy state.

Please join us on Friday at 11, invite your friends, and publicize this opportunity far and wide!
