Hi, Mike:
I have the list of all the registered voters in Santa Clara
County as of last July 29, almost 800,000 names. There were over 100
candidates for different races in Santa Clara County. In 2.5 hours,
I've covered a little over 1/3 of that list. I've written some software
to make it easier, but it's still pretty slow. People campaign on names
different from the name they are registered under, and some may not even
be registered -- if that's possible. The most interesting race I've
seen so far has 6 candidates competing for 3 seats on the board of the
San Benito High School district. All of 41 people voted in that
election. I could not find 5 of the 6 candidates on the voter
registration rolls. In another case, a Khanh Tran ran for Alum Rock
elementary school district, San José; there are 48 Khanh Tran's in San
José, none of them Green. A Joe Mitchner ran for a school board in Mt.
View. He's registered as "Joseph Mitchner", I think.
I'm going to quit for now. With luck, I'll think of something to
make it quicker tomorrow.
So far, I found one Green: Heather Bass was elected to the
Gilroy Unified School District. After I finish this task, I plan to
contact her, congratulate her, and see if what support she might like
from the County party.
Best Wishes,
Spencer

Beyond that, I do not recall any discussion at a monthly meeting or on our local email list of a local Green candidate. I've attended and taking minutes at most of the regular monthly meetings for several years and all of them for the past 13 months at least (I have the key to where we meet, so if I'm not there, they don't meet). I have not read all the emails, but if that had happened.
