Yes. The Progressive Party of the first half of the 20th Century was 
founded in Wisconsin. Bob Lafollette, was a renowned U,S. Senator.  His 
son, Bob, Jr. became a U.S, senator and his other son, Phillip, was a 
Progressive governor of Wisconsin.

Also, in the late 19th Century and up, until about 1950, most of 
Milwaukee's mayors were socialists, the socialist, Frank Zeidler, being 
the most respected of all Milwaukee mayors.

Don't forget that progressive spot called Madison.
