We're not just living "in interesting times" (old Chinese curse), but  
in *fascinating* times!
True, not *all* the banks are collapsing, but according to the Wall  
Street Journal:

WaMu is seized, sold off to JP Morgan, in largest failure in U.S.  
banking history

In addition, so quoth WSJ:

Bailout negotiations in disarray

Apparently, some ignorant chunk of the population (people who don't  
count) are protesting in the streets, emailing and phoning D.C., and  
complaining about the $2500.00 addition to their taxes to bail out  
the elite class who efficiently removed *all* the protections of FD  
Roosevelt's New Deal in the 30s and exposed every one of us to this  
disaster.

Imagine.

The next thing you know, these idiots (people who don't count)
will be voting third party in November
and joining the effort to impeach their principal leader,
all of which will negate all the work they've done in the last 8  
years (and back before even Nader (and the Green Party) started  
running in protest)!!!!

Heaven help us, Democracy may again raise its ugly head!
