Thanks to all who participated in last Friday's Health Care for Everyone forum. In spite of a lower turnout than hoped for(many seniors don't like to drive at night and Friday is a party night,too) the AHHS students were fabulous and hopefully watched the film. Several of them are students in the Medical Magnet program. Thanks to Katherine for recruiting the students who were willing to move furniture, chairs,clean the tables at the end,etc. Not to be a chauvinist but the girls really pitched in, boys are boys. Yay, women!

The panel was great giving different perspectives of health care esp. the Australian guy who Joan S. recruited. 

It was definitely a team effort. Caroline, whose idea was this event, was the registration expert, as usual. Jim Doyle for being the "cookie" man. Thanks to Joan and Lynne for making the packets, and Joan S. for her delicious fruit salad, Gerry helping with chairs and tables and running to go out and get extra cookies at the last minute. I saw the kids taking 4-5 cookies each and thought more folks were coming who might like a cookie. As it turned out they could have had 3 cookies with no problem as the turnout ended up being small. 
   
Thanks to Joan Goddard who did the Starbucks coffee run and took the cambro back before they closed. And brought Jim Beall's literaure and flyers about his Oct. 19 Town Hall. And Sandy for being the MC and getting the translation devices. Thanks to Greg who brought his water jug, the banners and did the walk-through and check-off list with Dammie, the Center staffer and me before the event.

We were able to connect Vietnamese bilingual attendees to help those who didn't speak English. We had them sit at the same tables. Thank Curley for translating in Spanish.

Thanks to Greg who took the registration sheets home for data entry-how many signed in? Shall we add them to our Yahoo SP group list?

I have created a new media sheet for future uses. We have such a well-oiled machine that come next spring it shouldn't be too hard organizing the 5th Health Fair.

Caroline was a trooper having to go through difficult medical treatments all the while. Thanks for inviting Gerry and me to help with the event.
